Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle at dusk

I am looking into proposing to my GF in April at Magic Kingdom. Are good/nice spots with little to no people around? I was planning on getting the Capture the Moment experience. If I book a firework cruise, would there be a photopass person on board?

Welcome to planDisney, Andrew, and congratulations on your upcoming engagement! I'm so glad you brought us your question. As a lover of fairytales and a romantic at heart, I'm honored to help you plan your proposal in The Most Magical Place on Earth!

First off, Magic Kingdom Park is a fantastic pick for your proposal. It's iconic, timeless, and completely unforgettable! Unsurprisingly, Magic Kingdom is a pretty hoppin' place, which can make it tough to find a setting without people around. Still, there are a few great proposal spots that are a bit off the beaten track, and I'm happy to tell you all about them!

Andrew, my first suggestion will give you a bit of privacy and a stunning view of Cinderella Castle. On a quiet little pathway to the right of the castle, you'll find the charming Cinderella Wishing Well. My family has made our most precious wishes here, and it's a perfect place to propose and make your own wishes for the future!

If this doesn't feel quite right, you may also consider the upper balcony of the Walt Disney World Railroad Station on Main Street, U.S.A. This little spot is generally pretty quiet, and it offers beautiful views of Main Street and Cinderella Castle beyond. There's also a small nook tucked away near Crystal Arts on Main Street U.S.A. that offers plenty of character - and sometimes, a reprieve from the crowds.

As you already know, Capture Your Moment: Magic Kingdom Park is a magical way to commemorate your milestone, and snag some save-the-date-worthy photos! However, you should know that if you choose this option, you'll be limited in where your session will take place (your photographer will tell you which locations are available at the beginning of your session). Of course, your proposal doesn't need to be crowd-free to be special! I once witnessed a proposal in front of Cinderella Castle during the Happily Ever After fireworks, and I assure you, it was pure magic. Sure, there were plenty of bystanders, but that only made the celebration bigger!

If you really need more privacy, I strongly suggest heading to one of the Magic Kingdom area resorts for your proposal. My top pick would be Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, where you'll find romance in spades! You could propose on the beach or by the marina outside Gasparilla Island Grill during the fireworks, or during a special meal at my favorite restaurant, Narcoossee's. As you mentioned, a Fireworks Cruise is another terrific idea, though there won't be a PhotoPass photographer on board during your experience.

Bonus Tip: Don't forget to stop by Guest Services or your resort lobby after the proposal to get your customized Celebration Buttons! Wearing these around the resort will bring plenty of well-wishes, and perhaps even a bit of pixie dust!

Andrew, I'm wishing you nothing but the best as you begin this new chapter of your very own fairytale. If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find me right here at planDisney!

    Magic awaits,

    Allison
