Hiya Bethanne,
I am so glad you stopped by planDisney with this question. My absolute favorite time of the year to visit
Walt Disney World Resort is the Christmas holiday season. There are so many special events to enjoy and the decorations throughout
Disney Springs, the theme parks and the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are simply magical! One of the most treasured holiday decorations has to be the amazing gingerbread creations that are displayed at a handful of the
Disney Deluxe Resorts.
Great news! Disney has confirmed that these magnificent masterpieces will be returning this year. Although I have yet to see a full list of which locations will be filled with the sweet aroma of gingerbread, I think it is safe to assume the return of two favorites - the gingerbread carousel at
Disney's Beach Club Resort and the life-size gingerbread house at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While they have yet to announce the start date of the gingerbread displays, typically the culinary masterminds begin the building process not long after the clock strikes midnight on Halloween. The delicious creations are usually finished and on full display right around the second week of November. Last year, we were there the week before Thanksgiving and was able to enjoy all of the gingerbread displays. Depending on the length of your stay, I think it is safe to schedule time for some resort hopping to visit these epic creations as well as other
seasonal activities.
If you have not already, be sure to grab a ticket to enjoy
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This special event takes place on select nights at Magic Kingdom and is the perfect way to put the ho-ho-ho in your trip. Party-goers are able to enjoy not only many of their favorite attractions, but a long list of special character interactions and entertainment that only occur on party nights. This includes
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade as well as a visit from Santa himself and snow on Main Street U.S.A.
If I can help with any additional planning information, please stop back and
see me.
Wishing you the most magical time!
Margaret
