Ahoy there, Amy, thanks for sailing over to planDisney with this question!
While I have not had the pleasure of parasailing at Castaway Cay, I can say that weight limits are really important for safety reasons. How brave that your 10-year-old is ready to see the world from way up there, that is awesome! I prefer my toes in the sand for these types of experiences, but appreciate watching others soar!
There are a couple of factors to consider before your 10-year-old can hop aboard for parasailing.
- Since they are under 13, they must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. So, someone in your party must also be riding with them.
- Since they do not meet the minimum weight, whoever rides with them, together the combined weight cannot go over 375 pounds.
- All parasailing participation is ultimately at the discretion of the Captain.
I sure hope this information helps, Amy, and that your kiddo has the most amazing time flying high about the sea! And if you happen to be that adult riding with them, have a blast, too! While you're on Castaway Cay, be sure to check out all the fun port adventures that you can experience. I had a blast at Pelican Plunge with my planDisney pals recently and even did my first snorkeling experience in Snorkeling Lagoon. Best part? Don't tell Ariel, but I found Prince Eric under the sea!
Well, Amy, I wish you and your family a magical time at sea, if you have any questions before you set sail, cruise on back, we're here to help!
Bon Voyage!
Camille
