We are looking to plan our 2013 trip to WDW during Christmas time - when does Christmas go up and come down?

    Hi Crystal,

Over the past few years, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has started early in the second week of November. The Magic Kingdom will be decorated for this event, with the rest of Walt Disney World following close behind. While there is a rolling schedule for decorating, you can expect that the vast majority of the parks and resorts will be in their full finery by about November 15-16.

The "undecorating" also takes place on a rolling schedule. The holiday decorations start coming down at the end of the first week of January. I was at Walt Disney World last week. When I arrived at my hotel (Beach Club resort) on January 5, the massive gingerbread carousel was still in the lobby. By the time I left on January 8, the carousel was gone. I have been at Walt Disney World over five of the past six Martin Luther King weekends. Typically the Magic Kingdom Christmas tree is there at the beginning of the weekend, but not at the end.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you need more assistance.
