I am looking for opinions on the All-Star Movie resort? I have seen so many mixed reviews...

Are you asking about it compared to other values, or compared to other levels of resort?

Compared to the other value resorts, we like it the most. The themeing appeals to us, and for some reason my children tell me it has the best food court. We find the bus system to be pretty much equal at all values. Compared to the moderate and deluxe resorts, it's lacking in amenities - but of course makes up for that with a much lower price tag!

What is your vacation style? Do you plan to rise early and stay in the parks until closing? Then a value resort is perfect for you. You're basically in need of a clean space and a comfy bed to sleep in, so don't pay extra for frills that you won't use. Value resorts have smaller rooms, quick service dining only, and large but simple swimming pools.

If you like to spend more time at your resort, swimming a great deal or maybe sitting down to dinner one evening, then you would probably prefer a moderate. They have slightly larger hotel rooms with coffeemakers in them, pools with water slides, and both quick service and table service dining options, as well as a bar.

If you like to be pampered or if location is your #1 concern, then the deluxes are calling your name. This is where you can find things like turndown service, concierge level rooms, signature dining, & possibly even a monorail. Dining options are plentiful in the deluxe resorts, and they are extensively themed. There is a lot of attention to detail, like leis being passed out in the Polynesian Resort, or balloons in the Beach Club. There are often kids clubs available, if you'd like to have a date night.

And of course, all those amenities come at a price. You have to decide what your family needs from a resort, and what category you're willing to pay for. Once you answer that, I think you'll be happy with any resort from that level. We've visited them all, and I can say first hand that they all have good points.

    Good luck!
