Looking for opinions/suggestions on our itinerary for June 17th - 23rd 2011. Very concerned about crowds. Fri-MK, Sat-E, Sun-MK, M-HS, T-E, W-MK, Th-HS. We have no dining reservations to restrict us and are not visiting AK. Thanks for the help!

Hi Shari! My family is visiting Walt Disney World around this same time, and like you, I try to plan my trips to avoid crowds and lines as much as possible. I like to consult the Crowd Calendar at the unofficial website touringplans.com as well as the Disney park calendars to determine the best schedule for my family. Attendance levels in the parks should be moderate at this time in June, so with good planning we won't be spending lots of time in lines, I hope! You don't mention whether you're staying at a Disney resort and whether your family plans to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. I notice you're planning to visit some parks on days that they're hosting Extra Magic Hours, so I assume you are planning to use that extra time for Disney resort guests.  However, if you're not staying at a Disney hotel, or your family doesn't like to get up early or stay up late to use the Extra Magic Hours, you'll want to avoid the parks hosting those hours each day, since they can be more crowded than usual.

On Fathers Day (Sunday June 19), the Touring Plans site has recommended to avoid the Magic Kingdom, which is the park you're planning to visit that day. The Magic Kingdom is typically more crowded than usual on holidays. You may want to consider visiting Hollywood Studios instead that day and seeing the popular Fantasmic show that evening, as Touring Plans has indicated the Studios crowds may not be as heavy that day.

I've found that the best way to avoid crowds is to arrive at the parks early in the morning before they open. Lines are often very short first thing in the morning, and my family generally hits the most popular attractions when we arrive so that we can experience those rides with little to no wait time.

Hope you have a wonderful time this June! Wave hi if you see me! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
