We are looking to holiday in Disney 2013 Nov/Dec. Our kids will be 5 years (girl) and 23 months (boy). We'd like to stay ion site but which is more child friendly? I have looked at them all and I think I am letting my own wants and needs cloud my vision

    Zoe,

The first thing I tell anyone about the Disney resorts is that they all, regardless of theming, are very child-friendly. Let's be honest. That is Disney's core clientele, so they have to be family friendly at all turns if they want us to return. I think they do a great job.

Now you did not mention what resorts you were considering, but I will tell you what resorts I would pick, by classification, if I were in your shoes.

    Deluxe: Grand Floridian or Polynesian
With a 5 and 2 year old, you are going to spend more park time at the Magic Kingdom than anywhere else. That makes the monorail access a valuable convenience, if you can afford it. Why these, and not the Contemporary? I like the pool options better at these two, as well as the grounds for those times when you need to entertain your 2 year old. I also like the Wilderness Lodge, but monorail access trumps boat access to the Magic Kingdom.

    Moderate: Port Orleans Riverside
More to do and see, and the ability to boat over to Downtown Disney could be a nice convenience and distraction.

    Value: Art of Animation
The family suites make it easier for you to deal with all the things you have to pack, do, and prepare for with a 2 year old.

I am glad to look at the resorts you are considering and provide some thoughts on them as well. And don't feel bad about picking a resort based on a theme YOU like. You are on vacation too, not just them, and your enjoyment will make the trip more fun for them as well!

    Have a magical vacation!
