We are looking at going to Hilton Head for the first time this August. Our kids will be 7 and 10. What is there to do for families? We've never done a non park trip!

    Hi Jaclyn!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's been a while since we've hEARd from you, I am so happy to have you back! You are going to love the laid-back southern charm that exudes from every corner of Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. This is the Resort my family visits when we want to be all about the chill. We love exploring the beach and then returning to Disney's Beach house for life-sized checkers by the pool. I suggest y'all rent bikes to get from the Resort to the beach house. That way, you can explore Hilton Head Island when you are done!

When we visit, we barely see our kiddos! The Cast Members at the Activity Center are so fantastic; our kiddos beg to spend the day with them! The fun changes from week to week, but they've enjoyed movies by the campfire, Mickey t-shirt tie-dye, a s' mores sing-along, and even made fleece quilts! When they are ready for you to join them, I would suggest a Movie Under the Oaks. The location is gorgeous under the Spanish oaks on the bank of Broad Creek.

One of our favorite outings was the Lowcountry Nature Dolphin Tour, where we cruised next to some of the island's cutest residents. Right next to the Dolphin Tour was a zipline adventure course that looked like so much fun! We weren't able to participate a few years ago because my kiddos were too short, but I think now they would meet the height requirements (they are five and seven for reference), so you should look into the adventure!

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't talk about golf! Hilton Head Island is world-renowned for its golf courses; there are over 40 courses for you to play on. Even if you all aren't the next Rory McIlroy, you should enjoy a round or two!

Jaclyn, you will get a daily guide of activities at the Resort, and I'm sure you will discover even more fun for the kids. Make sure to take a swing in a hammock and play bocci outside of your Villa for me!
