We were looking at the hidden Mickey mouse to do with our grand kids on our Disney World trip but are not sure how or where to start. Can you help get us started?

    Hey Howdy Hey Elaine,

Welcome back to planDisney. Oh boy! How great that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation to enjoy with your grandchildren. One of the things I love most about Disney World is that it can be shared my friends and family members of all ages. The memories are priceless and I would not trade them for anything!

We began our Hidden Mickey quest about 15 years ago. A Hidden Mickey is a partial or complete impression of Mickey Mouse that has been added (by Disney Imagineers, Artists or Cast Members) in to Disney attractions, hotels, restaurants and more. The most common Hidden Mickey is three circles that create the image of Mickey's head and ears but can also include a side silhouette, other recognizable Mickey features (like his gloves or shoes) and even other Disney pals (like Donald Duck and Goofy). These images have been subtly added throughout the theme parks, resorts, and more. Our family has been searching for these images for over 15 years and have not come close to tracking them all down. Some are fairly easy to spot and remember, and there are others that takes us numerous visits to finally identify.

The best way to start your Hidden Mickey adventure is by either purchasing the Hidden Mickey book written by Steven Barrett or downloading the Hidden Mickey app on your smartphone. Mr. Barrett's book is available at most Disney Resorts Collection hotel gift shops, theme park merchandise locations or if you prefer to obtain the book before your arrival, it is available at most book stores or for purchase on Amazon. We like to keep the book and highlighters with us while on vacation and use different colors to indicate which family member first spotted the Hidden Mickey. There are big bragging rights in our house for whomever found the most each trip!

Happy hunting! If I can help with any further planning questions, please stop back and see me

    With pixie dust,
    Margaret
