Looking to head to DW in October 2012 with my husband and two children 7&9. We are debating between the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. Would love to hear which is better and why. Thanks!

    Hi Angelika,

Both the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary are excellent hotels, you really can't go wrong with either one. The Contemporary is fun because the monorail runs right through it, and is super convenient because you can both take the monorail and walk to the Magic Kingdom. Plus I find a great sense of history there because it is one of the original Disney hotels.

But my gut reaction is to put you at the Grand Floridian. The GF has more green space than the Contemporary. My own children can't resist doing cartwheels on the lawn or tossing a frisbee any time we're there. I also find that the pools at the GF are slightly more child friendly at he GF. I like the GF zero entry pool that's right next to the sandy beach area. It's relaxing for mom and dad, and fun for the kids.

Both hotels have excellent restaurants, I would encourage you to dine at both hotels to get at least some experience of each.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
