Looking to go to Disney May 3rd for a week... Looks to be a slow time.. Do you know if I should be safe with low crowd levels? So excited!

    Erika,

I have been there in May many times. It is not a time that I would classify as either 'packed' or 'light'. I find that the first week of May is a time that is squarely in the 'moderate' crowd level description. The crowds are that perfect level of buzzing enough that you don't feel like you are in an abandoned theme park, but not so busy that you feel like you are in Times Square on New Year's Eve.

At that time of year you will find that the 1 or 2 most popular attractions in each park (like Toy Story Midway Mania) will fill up and have longer wait times just as they do during busier seasons. But the other attractions will have really short wait times most of the day.

BOTTOM LINE: I think you will be pleased with crowd levels, though you won't be able to just walk onto any ride you wish.

On a personal note, after the September-October time frame, May is my favorite month of the year to go to Walt Disney World!

    Have a magical vacation!
