We are looking at getting memory maker to split between 10 people - 3 families but only 3 of us will have magic bands. Is it possible to link just memory maker to a magic band? Does the band need to be linked to the account before purchase?

Hi, Tegen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for bringing your question to us! I am a huge fan of Disney PhotoPass photographers as they allow me to leave my camera at home and let them be in charge of capturing our memories. With Memory Maker, I do not have to worry about picking just one or two favorite Disney PhotoPass pictures from our unforgettable vacation - I can keep all of them!

When purchasing Memory Maker, you will need to link it to your My Disney Experience account. You will notice during your vacation that not only will your Disney PhotoPass pictures appear in your account, but also ones from everyone in your Family & Friends list. When any of you have a picture taken, the photographer will either scan the MagicBand, theme park ticket, or Memory Maker card (this will be mailed to the home of the person who originally purchased it). If you prefer, the photographer can scan a Disney PhotoPass card, which you can use to link the pictures to the main Memory Maker account. Please note that on-ride photos and videos do require the use of a linked MagicBand while on the ride in order for those to be associated with your Memory Maker.

If anyone in your group does decide to make use of MagicBand's convenience, they are more than welcome to purchase one and link it to their own My Disney Experience profile. By having the MagicBand properly linked to their profile and in turn, their profile linked to your My Disney Experience Family & Friends list, then their pictures and videos should link to the Memory Maker. I hope this helps you understand how to best use Memory Maker with a group. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
