Hi Brenda,
I always think a great way to start any trip is with a meal at
Chef Mickey's, it's located in the Contemporary Resort which means you don't need a park ticket to go there. It's a character meal and you can normally find Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald there which makes it very fun!
You can find some more good restaurants over at the Boardwalk, this can be accessed via the boat from Hollywood Studios. None have characters at lunch time but my family loves to dine at Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club. You sit in old style diner booths and the desserts here are fantastic, what's even better is you don't need a reservation, it's first come first served!
Another good option is
T-Rex in Downtown Disney, this is similar to the Rainforest Cafe but with a Dinosaur theme. After dinner you'll then be able to stroll around the lake at Downtown Disney and even get a start on your souvenir shopping!
You can see a full list of WDW restaurants at
www.disneyworld.com and you can also use the online reservation system there to book!
Have a great trip,
Jo
