Kevin from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am looking foward to potentially participate in the Star Wars Nite event at Disneyland park, especially participating in events that use lightsabers. What is th policy on loose articles when it comes to lightsabers that come from Savi or Dok Ondar?

    Hello there, Kevin.

Welcome to planDisney and we're glad that you came to us with your question. I'm thrilled to hear that you're planning on attending Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite! It's one of the most popular After Hours events and promises to be an exciting time for all Star Wars fans.

It sounds like you have an outfit already planned for this party. Indeed, I have seen some very elaborate costumes that rival professional cosplayers at these nights and it all helps with the immersion for which Disney is so well known. As long as you are adhering to the Costume Guidelines, then you should be fine. As stated in the guidelines, some of the more complicated costumes might garner more scrutiny at the security checkpoint. Just make sure you aren't using a mask or helmet that covers your face. Lightsabers are included among Acceptable Accessories and, if you've seen some of the fantastic videos of lightsaber meetups in front of the Millennium Falcon, plenty of other Guests have brought their "elegant weapon for a more civilized age" into the Parks.

As I write this, tickets have already gone on sale for Inspire Magic Key holders only. All Magic Key holders will have the opportunity to begin purchasing on February 21, 2024. Ticket sales will open to the general public on February 23, 2024, so I urge you to be ready to enter that online queue! Thankfully, they've added a feature this year where you have the option of being notified when your turn is up, so you won't have to constantly check your status like before.

Fun Fact: Star Tours: The Adventures Continue opened on January 9, 1987. There was so much hype behind this George Lucas/Disney collaboration that Disneyland Park remained open for 60 straight hours to allow Guests the chance to experience this attraction! And we're about to be treated to all new scenes this year!

Kevin, I hope that you found this response helpful and I wish you the best of luck during the ticket purchasing process. If you need anything further from us, please write again anytime. You're always welcome at planDisney!

May The Force Be With You,
    -Al

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
