Grüße, Vanessa! Wilkommen bei planDisney! I am so happy to meet you, and you have given me a reason to practice my German and talk about
Disney Cruise Line. It's a few of my favorite things.
A cruise in April is a
Disney Wish come true! It's so very close, so let's get you ready to set sail. Parking is available at
Port Canaveral, which makes it so easy to unload your luggage, park and check in for your cruise. I grew up near this port, so I know it pretty well.
Port Canaveral is easily accessible off State Road 528. With several cruise terminals, lighted boards tell you where to find the Disney Wish.
It should be in Terminal 10, but the signs will help make it easy to find and let you know if there are any unexpected changes.
When you arrive, Cast Members will direct you to an unloading area where you can leave the luggage you want delivered to your stateroom. You should have put the luggage tags on the bags ahead of time, but if you did not or didn't receive luggage tags, Cast Members can help. Be sure to keep your
required travel documents (passports) and any medications or other essentials in a carry-on bag to board the ship and have with you during the day.
After you leave your luggage, you can park your car in the lot operated by the local Port Authority next to the terminal.
After parking, grab your carry-on bags and head to check-in. They will ask for your passports or other travel documents and get you set to board the ship, including giving you a Boarding Group number. You will then go through security, much like boarding a plane. Your carry-on items are scanned, and you walk through a metal detector. Much like the X-ray systems at the airport, your bags can be no larger than 19"x14"x22". It's always a good idea to review the
list of prohibited items to know what is safe to bring aboard the ship.
Once you are through security, you can wait in the terminal until your Boarding Group is called. The "Welcome Aboard!" moment as you pass the threshold to get on the ship is pretty magical!
Your
arrival time at the port depends on a few factors. If you can complete the
online check-in before your cruise, you can pick a Port Arrival Time. If you do not or can't complete this, Disney advises you to arrive around 2 p.m.
Be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before boarding the ship. It puts so much information at your fingertips, like entertainment, shows, dining menus, restaurant hours, character greetings, and so much more.

Gute Reise!
