Bright suns, Evie! Welcome!
A highlight for an awful lot of
Walt Disney World vacations is a visit to
Disney's Hollywood Studios, where you can transport to the planet Batuu by stopping at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Being immersed in Batuuan culture makes you want to blend in with the local styles. I get it.
While there are some
general costume guidelines you need to follow, there were some more
specific guidelines issued when travel to Batuu became possible. The operative word in your question is "inspired." That's sort of where the current costume policy lands.
Outfits that fall in the category of "Disney Bounding" are okay - clothes that are inspired by what your favorite Star Wars characters would wear. While younglings under the age of 14 can wear full costumes, if you are older, costumes are not permitted. You can mimic Batuuan attire by choosing muted, earthy shades of khaki and green, maybe a vest, or even a dress that features the characters from your favorite movie.
It would be in particularly bad form to wear Stormtrooper armor or other uniforms, but you could wear white with black trim to show your support for the First Order. And as I'm sure you can imagine, there is only one true Chewbacca - don't try to pull off a Wook-alike costume.
You can still have a great time on your visit, just stick to the inspiration and not so much the costumes.
'Til the spires, Evie!
