    We were looking to take our first Disney cruise in 2020 or 2021. We want to go on a Star Wars themed ship, but they do not book past February 2020. Do you know why? Thank you!

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Beth!

    I am thrilled to hEAR you will be booking a DREAM vacation onboard Disney Cruise Line soon!  I love all of the MAGIC onboard during each WONDERful high seas adventure.  These sailings transform you to a FANTASY world when you choose any of the themed cruises like Star Wars Day at Sea, Marvel Day at Sea, Halloween on the High Seas or Very Merrytime sailings.

    Historically, the Star Wars Day at Sea sailings have taken place the first couple months of each year.  Disney Cruise Line has not shared their strategy behind the timing of each of their non-holiday themed cruises.  Entertainment and themed cruises are always subject to change as new itineraries are released, so keep an eye out for Disney Cruise Line news.  You never know what type of pixie dust will be sprinkled on us castaways!

    For 2020 itineraries, Star Wars sailings are available in January and February.  I am not aware of any additional itineraries being added, but you can follow the Disney Parks Blog for announcements on additional cruises as well as details when Disney Cruise Line releases 2021 itineraries.
