looking at the Fantasy 7-day eastern itinerary A. have girls between 9 - 11. what are the best port excursions for that age in st. martin and St. Thomas ? which sub tour and which bike tour is the best between the two ports? thx

    Welcome back again, Lisa!

The beach adventures are wonderful, but since you'll be spending an entire day at Castaway Cay, why not try soaking up more of the local culture and flavor while you're in the other ports?

In St. Thomas, I recommend the Coral World and Butterfly Garden adventure. Guests get to visit the butterfly farm, spend time at Coral World enjoying the marine life there and even do a bit of swimming at a beach nearby if you so choose. Or for even more fun, try to the Coral World Ocean Park by Land and Sea, which though it doesn't include the butterfly farm, does include a semi-sub ride to view the beautiful sea life under the waves of the Caribbean! If your girls prefer more adventure, check out the Captain Nautica Mini Boats, which you'll drive on your own with the group out to Christmas Cove for a snorkel break. What fun!

St. Maarten is a unique island because it includes both a French and Dutch side. Let your girls get a bit of learning in while you're there and try out the St. Martin Island and Butterfly Farm Tour. You will all get to tour the island, learning about it's unique sights, then the girls will really enjoy the butterfly farm stop, before you get to explore the charming little town of Marigot for some shopping. I wouldn't do both butterfly farms, as you'll be happy after just one, so if you skip it in St. Thomas, it's nice to see in St. Maarten. There is a semi-sub adventure in St. Maarten too, called the SeaWorld Explorer.

However, if your girls are really up for the beach, you can never have enough beach time, right? There are great beaches on both islands. As you browse the Port Adventures, be sure to check the "Family Adventures" box, which will narrow the choices to those for families, so you can more easily sort through. I hope that helps as you begin to plan your adventures in the Eastern Caribbean with Disney Cruise Line, Lisa!
