We are looking to experience Epcot's Food and Wine Festival along with seeing the beautiful Christmas decorations at Disney in 2019. When would be the best time to encompass both of these wonderful events?

    Hi there, Carol!

I like the way you think - combining a trip that encompasses two of the most wonderful times at Walt Disney World. The holiday season at Walt Disney World is like having an extra layer of pixie dust sprinkled over everything, with each resort featuring themed Christmas trees and decorations. And the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is one of the most popular - and fun - events of the year.

The Food and Wine Festival generally runs from late August or early September until about the second week of November. Just after Halloween, the Magic Kingdom transforms into a holiday wonderland, in preparation for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, and the resorts also begin to deck their halls. I can't go to sleep at night in a Walt Disney World resort hotel during the holidays without visions of sugar plums invading my dreams.

In order to try to capture the best of both worlds, I recommend trying to go as late in the Food and Wine festival as you can. While dates for next year have not yet been released, this year, the festival goes through November 12th, and the first of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party events begins November 8th. Booking in that time frame should get you close to seeing a good bit of holiday magic.

    Happy holiday planning, Carol!
