Welcome Aboard, Lori!
What a great dilemma to have, trying to choose between a wonderful vacation at Walt Disney World or a fantastic vacation aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship! Why not do both? Since you are looking at a ten day window, you could try spending a few days at a Walt Disney World Resort and then take a nice relaxing cruise after the hustle and bustle of navigating the WDW theme parks.
If you are looking to spend Christmas onboard a Disney ship (which would be amazing, by the way), there is a 4-Night Bahamian sailing on the
Disney Dream that departs on December 24, or a 7-Night Eastern Caribbean sailing on the Disney Fantasy that departs on December 19. Both of these would fit in nicely to your vacation dates.
Your family will have a super fun time at Walt Disney World, of that I have no doubt. But if you are looking to spend some quieter time, with no running, I would recommend a cruise. Your children are the perfect ages to enjoy the Oceaneer Lab and
Oceaneer Club during the day, while you and your husband can take some time to yourselves at the Quiet Cove Pool. Then, each evening, you can enjoy a lovely meal together in the main dining rooms. You can also attend the Broadway-caliber stage shows and maybe even catch a movie in the Buena Vista Theater.
The Walt Disney World resort is decorated to the hilt at the holidays! I would recommend stopping by to see the amazing Gingerbread House at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It is a sight to behold!
Whatever vacation you choose, I am sure you will have a magical time! Please visit us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask more questions as your vacation gets closer.
Happy Cruising (or WDWing), Tracy V.
