Hi Amanda,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds like you are a fantastic mom of an extraordinary kid, and I love that you are pre-planning for your son’s
special dietary needs.
Of all the places to eat in the world, I find that the Disney properties are the most accommodating. They will do their absolute best to accommodate dietary, and lifestyle dining needs and your son is no exception! The thing I love about the
quick-service restaurants is that anyone can order any item à la carte, whether child or adult. Can I let you in on a secret? My husband is a relatively light eater when we are in the Parks, so he routinely orders off the kids’ menu!
In looking at
ABC Commissary’s Menu, I see a kids' meal with chicken strips, french fries, and green beans. Feel free to order that or any other thing your son will eat. If the green beans are a problem, let the cast member know, and they will gladly replace it with something that will satisfy your son.
If you happen to dine at a fixed-priced meal, like Chef Mickey's, while you can order anything you desire off of the menu (kids or adult), grownups will be charged the adult price for the meal. You can find almost every menu on property online, if there are certain items that you know your son will do better with, feel free to contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to discuss your options at least two weeks before your visit. They will be happy to help you navigate the dining process.
Amanda if you have any other questions, please swing back by. In the meantime, Bon Appétit!
