I am looking into doing a split stay at Coronado Springs and Wilderness Lodge in January. Is it worth getting a dining plan for this trip or just going without one?

    Hey Kennedy,

Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so glad you’re here with this great question about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. You have plans to stay at two phenomenal Disney Resorts Collection hotels - you’ve made some great choices! Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort blends Spanish, Mexican and Southwest American cultures together in the most beautiful way, while Disney’s Wilderness Lodge provides a rustic but breathtaking escape to America’s Great Northwest. I love that you’ll get to experience both of these resorts in one visit.

Now, onto the more delicious part of your question: should you purchase a Dining Plan for your stay? The answer to that is maybe. This really depends on your preference. The Disney Dining Plans are a yummy way to add the convenience of prepaid meals to your vacation. Guests can use their MagicBand+, Key to the World card (resort room key), or a Disney MagicMobile pass on their device to pay for meals and snacks with their dining credits. In January, you’ll be able to select a new dining plan option: The Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan. This plan gives guests 2 table-service meals, 1 quick-service meal, and 1 snack/nonalcoholic drink per person per night in addition to the Resort-Refillable Mug. This plan is designed for the foodies!

Having a Dining Plan during a split stay is possible - if you choose to add one to both stays you would just need to activate both plans separately. You would also receive 2 sets of Resort-Refillable Mugs. If you’re worried that two plans might offer more food than you can consume, I’ve seen guests add a dining plan to one leg of their split stay instead of adding it to every resort. They usually add it to the longest stay, but you have the flexibility to do what makes the most sense for your family.

Kennedy, I hope this information was helpful. As you consider your options, know that you can return to planDisney at any time with additional questions. We’re happy to help! Until then, TTFN… ta-ta for now!
