Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera is a very popular dining experience at Disney World. Guests enjoy French and Italian-inspired delicacies while meeting Mickey Mouse and his best pals dressed in the most stylish art-inspired outfits. It’s a fun experience and the food is delectable. That said, advance dining reservations are strongly encouraged, but there are occasional opportunities for spontaneous dining here thanks to the
Mobile Dine Walk-up Wait List. You would need to be within a decent proximity of the restaurant to join the list, but when you do join you will essentially wait for an available table. The length of that wait depends on how busy the restaurant is and you won’t really know whether there is even availability to join the list until you get close enough to the restaurant.
My advice: if the fate of happiness while on your vacation hinges upon having
any kind of character meal, keep your guaranteed
Chef Mickey’s reservation and enjoy the yummy buffet there while you meet Mickey Mouse and his best friends in their chef-inspired outfits. If the family is willing to make alternative plans and enjoy breakfast elsewhere if the wait gets too long, I say cancel the Chef Mickey’s reservation and plan to arrive at Topolino’s Terrace as early as possible after they open to join the Walk-up Wait List. Prepare your tribe mentally for any possible disappointments, as there is no guarantee that you will be seated. A bonus is that they’ll get to ride the
Disney Skyliner, which is a big treat for my kids. They love it like it’s an attraction in and of itself!
