Welcome to planDisney, Erin!
We're so glad you sailed over with your question, and I'm excited to hear you're considering a November sailing on
Disney Destiny. A few friends sailed on this incredible new ship recently, and I've heard nothing but great reviews! I hope to experience it for myself one day, especially the
‘Disney Hercules’ stage show followed by a spirited beverage (or two) at
Haunted Mansion Parlor or
Cask & Cannon, lounges themed after my favorite Magic Kingdom Park attractions.
My family sailed on Disney Dream on December 29 last year and were pleasantly surprised to see the ship still fully decorated for Christmas, including a deliciously-scented gingerbread house in the lobby, once we boarded. We expected to wake up to an empty lobby each morning, but the decorations didn't start getting removed until the evening of New Year's Day. However, debarkation morning was even sadder than usual as we watched the remaining garlands and tree pieces come down bit by bit as we made our way off the ship.
It seems decorations tend to stay up a bit longer as opposed to going up earlier, so I wouldn't expect the ship's halls to be decked ahead of official
Very Merrytime Cruises. The ship team does have a quick turnaround time in port, so I'll cross my fingers you'll see some magic when you wake up on debarkation day, but I can't make any promises. If you have your heart set on twinkling lights, seasonal activities, and seeing the Characters in their finest holiday attire, I'd recommend booking an official holiday cruise itinerary.
Erin, I hope this helps you choose the right sailing for your family. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. Wishing you a magical vacation!
Bon voyage,
Amy
