Greetings Charlie, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for visiting us with your Disney Dining question.
'Ohana is one of my family's must-do restaurants every time we visit Walt Disney World. If you have not yet experienced it, I think you're going to love this delicious, Polynesian-themed feast! Of course, strolling around the beautiful Polynesian Village Resort grounds and gift shops adds to the lovely ambiance... so definitely take your time to enjoy the resort when you visit.
For all-you-care-to-enjoy family style dining at Disney World, each guest may select their preference of the
standard menu or plant-based menu. I recently dined at Sebastian's Bistro with a vegetarian friend, which features a similar family style dinner. Two of us selected the standard menu, and she chose the plant-based option. Our server simply brought out a smaller portion for her vegetarian starter, sides, and main entree platter. The Cast Member even told us we could feel free to sample any of the options brought to our table, so it was a fun opportunity to sample some of the plant-based options.
I'm certain your experience will be very similar at 'Ohana, and that yes! It will be possible for just one person in your party to receive the plant-based dinner, while the others in your party choose the traditional menu. The service should not change for anyone else... those generous portions just keep on coming! My kids always end up asking our server for more of the teriyaki noodles and pork dumplings in garlic-chili sauce. It's making me hungry just thinking about it, this meal is a real treat!
Did you know that you can see Magic Kingdom's evening fireworks show from the windows of 'Ohana? They even play the accompanying music soundtrack, so guests can enjoy the full effect. On occasion our dining reservation overlapped with the timing of fireworks, and we loved getting to watch the show from inside the restaurant. But my favorite plan is to wrap up dinner a little before the show begins and then stroll down to the Polynesian's beach area to watch the fireworks across the water!
Remember you can make
advance dining reservations starting 60 days prior to your check-in date, beginning at 6:00 AM ET. This is a popular place, so you'll want to book as soon as your eligibility window opens up. If you want to check Magic Kingdom's evening fireworks show times in order to perfectly time your dining reservation time, keep an eye on the
Parks Operating Calendar.
Charlie, I hope this helps and that you decide to add 'Ohana to your Disney World plans. Please visit us again at planDisney if we can assist with any other questions or pixie-dusted details. Have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World!
Magical Memories Await,
Tami
