Hello Doug!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney!
The holidays are truly the most wonderful time of the year, and what better place to enjoy them than at the Walt Disney World Resort! While my family hasn’t spent New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World, we have visited in the season to enjoy all the gorgeous decorations and special events. You can’t help but get into the holiday spirit!
Doug, I am not sure exactly what event, in particular, you are asking about. To the best of my knowledge, there have yet to be any announcements about special events held at Walt Disney World on New Year’s Eve this year.
If you are simply wanting to visit the theme parks that day, you’ll want to be sure you have both a
Disney Theme Park Ticket and a
Disney Park Pass Reservation for the park you wish to visit on New Year’s Eve. If you have both a ticket and a Disney Park Pass Reservation, you will be able to enter that theme park on New Year’s Eve. As of this writing, there is still
full availability for Disney Park Pass Reservations on New Year’s Eve at all four theme parks. Though I expect that as we get closer to the holiday, that day may book up.
While Guests with Park Hopper tickets may attempt to hop to a second park after 2 PM, park hopping is not always guaranteed. Typically New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest days of the year at Walt Disney World, so I would not rely on park hopping being available. The parks do have the potential to reach capacity that day. As of this writing, the park hours have not been released for that week. In 2020, none of the theme parks were open until midnight, so know that that may be the case this year too. Also, Park Hopping was not available in 2020, so it is difficult to know what Disney will do in terms of park hopping that day.
Doug, I recommend that if you plan to visit one of the theme parks for New Year's Eve, book your tickets and Park Pass Reservation for the park you wish to celebrate in. As the holidays approach, stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog and the Walt Disney World Website for
park hours and updates. Also know you can pop back here to planDisney with all of your trip planning questions as the holidays approach!
Happy Planning!
