Looking to do a character breakfast in March for our 3 year old son. Is this something we can prebook ahead of arrival, and if so how do we go about doing that?

    Hi Wayne!
    Welcome to planDisney.

It’s always a pleasure to assist my fellow guests from the UK, and I’m very happy to help you choose and book a breakfast with some Disney Characters for your whole family to enjoy.  Your son is the perfect age for this experience!

You can make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance either online or by using the My Disney Experience app – download that to your phone, and create an account.  It’s very quick to make reservations using the app, and if any restaurants are fully booked, you will see if any will accept walk-ins on the day.  Also, it’s worth checking for any availability closer to the date because guests change their plans all the time, even on the same day.

For any dining within a Walt Disney World theme park, you will need park admission tickets, even if you are only visiting for dining.  If your reservation is earlier than the official park opening time, you will see an entry point for guests with dining reservations, so you can enter the park early.

Inside Magic Kingdom Park, The Crystal Palace is very popular for breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and friends, in a very pretty setting.  Please give Eeyore a big hug from me, and watch out for Tigger - he really is very bouncy!

Over at EPCOT, Garden Grill Restaurant hosts breakfast, lunch and dinner with Chip 'n' Dale and Disney Pals.  This restaurant rotates slowly (really slowly, I barely felt it moving) as you enjoy your meal, giving you views from your table of Living with the Land.

There are some lovely character meals at the Disney Resort hotels.  If you arrive by car, parking is complimentary if you are there for a dining reservation – just tell security at the entrance that you are there for a meal.

Some of my favourite breakfasts include: Breakfast a la Art with Mickey & Friends at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort – step out onto the rooftop terrace for an amazing view of the Skyliner and surrounding area.  Lovely food too!

Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast with Minnie Mouse and some of her friends at Disney's Beach Club Resort.

Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – a lively breakfast with Mickey and his friends.  This is a great location just a short monorail ride around Seven Seas Lagoon to the Magic Kingdom Park entrance.

Full details of all available character dining can be seen here.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, or you can send me a direct question if you wish.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World!
