Hi Sushovan – and great question about
Disney Gift Cards!
I recently had a large group of friends purchase me multiple Disney Gift Cards as gifts and I have good news – there is no need for the email address associated with the purchase to be transferred to the future owner of the gift card.
If purchasing a
Disney Gift Card online, you will have the option to buy either a physical card that is mailed to an address of your choosing or an e-gift card that is emailed.
Depending on the gift card type, if you purchase a physical gift card, your friend can use the gift card similar to a credit card when at the
Disneyland Resort or
shopDisney. You may consider having the card mailed directly to you and then giving the gift card to your friend.
If you are purchasing a digital Disney Gift Card, but want the gift card emailed to you, you can later forward the email with the gift card barcode to your friend and the gift card should work the same. This is what many of my friends did for my gift cards. There are three redemption options for digital gift cards:
- Print the email and a Cast Member can scan the barcode of the print-out during the purchase
- Open the email and have the Cast Member scan the barcode from the phone.
- Save the gift card to a virtual wallet, which many phones have available.
I highly recommend the last option.
I love how most places at Disneyland Resort accept the Disney Gift Card, and your friend can even add the gift card to their
Disneyland Mobile App for mobile purchases as well. I hope your friend enjoys the gift.
Best wishes,
Lola
