Hello, Diane, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am super happy to report that Old Port Royale is newly reopened and better than ever. I was there in November and again in December, and the new "port of entry" at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is absolutely breathtaking. From the vaulted ceilings to the gorgeous island-inspired color scheme, you'll feel both relaxed and energized in this awesome space. There's a grab-and-go spot adjacent to the updated Centertown Market that has a dedicated self-service ice cream freezer (with Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars!), and the Calypso Trading Post has a fabulous array of souvenirs and necessities from collectible pins to sunscreen. With comfortable seating facing huge bay windows and looking out onto a dazzling three-tier fountain, the main lobby would be a great spot to rest your feet after a long day at the Theme Parks or even cozy up with a good book!
One of the newest spots at Old Port Royale is
Sebastian's Bistro: a restaurant offering delectable fare such as Caribbean Pull-apart Rolls with Guava Butter, Mango Chutney, and Jamaican Jerk Oil; Jerk Chicken or Butternut Squash; and a Banoffee Tart with Banana Custard, Chocolate Ganache, and Caramel Sauce. I'd make the trip just for those Rolls; they're DIVINE!
And if you're visiting after fall 2019, Guests at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will also have access to Walt Disney World Resort's newest transportation option:
Disney Skyliner, linking you to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios!
So never fear, Diane--you'll want to kick off your shoes and put your toes in the sand as soon as you arrive in this island paradise!
