Hi Richard!
Thanks for stopping by with this great question. I love that you are planning ahead to your 2025 visit and am so excited for you to join the
Annual Passholder family. I have loved being a Passholder since I purchased my first last spring. It's given me countless magical moments and plenty of
great discounts, too!
Annual Passes must be activated within a year of purchase but your pass clock will not begin until the first time you scan into the parks. I purchased mine last April but waited until I visited over Memorial Day Weekend a few weeks later to activate it. You'll notice that the expiration date listed under the pass barcode in your
My Disney Experience Mobile App will update once you use your pass for the first time.
As I'm sure you've heard
theme park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets. However, Annual Passholders must make reservations for most dates. You'll want to review the
blockout calendar for your pass type and secure the appropriate reservations for each day you plan to visit the parks. You can make these reservations before your pass is fully activated, and I always recommend booking as early as possible.
In addition to all the amazing Passholder perks, you'll also find special offers for discounted resort stays available from time to time. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the
Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page to see if any deals work for your upcoming visit. In many cases, you can even modify into an offer if it becomes available after you've booked. Feel free to
contact a Cast Member by phone with any questions if you find an eligible promotion after securing your reservation.
I hope this was helpful, Richard. If we can answer more planning questions please don't hesitate to come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
