Hey Howdy Hey Kate and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you so much for stopping by with your question about the cancellation policy for
hotel accommodations at the Walt Disney World Resort. I will do my best to give you some insights so you can plan your trip accordingly.
The current policy for room-only bookings requires a deposit that is usually the cost of a one-night stay. The full amount is then due upon check-in. If you were to cancel your reservation, you would need to do so 5 nights or more from your date of arrival for a full refund. Cancelations made in less than 5 days will forfeit their down payment. This would be true in most cases when a Guest makes a reservation online or through their travel agent.
Now, if you are a travel agent making a reservation for yourself, this may be a different story. Disney usually has rooms set aside throughout the year to show their appreciation for travel agents helping Guests book their vacations, available at special rates. Because Disney does not share these rooms or pricing with the general public, the terms and conditions are also withheld. One of the best places to find this information is working with some of the administration teams in your travel agency as they may have the most accurate information on the specific terms and conditions of those particular rooms. Each agency will also have a Disney liaison who may also be able to answer your questions about the specific policy.
I hope you can join us later this year in the Most Magical Place on Earth for all of the excitement around the resort this year. Please feel free to stop back with any further questions, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
