Hi Jennifer,
I have been in the same predicament as you before. Unfortunately, if you have two different bookings, they will not guarantee that you can stay in the same room. If your dates are not flexible at all and you do not want to have to move rooms, then I would recommend looking at a different resort or room type that is available for the full length of your stay.
If you are set on
All-Star Movies Resort it is worth a try to call the
Disney Resort Reservations Line to see if there is any way they can book a complete stay at your desired resort. Sometimes they can make reservations that we can't make on the website or they can offer you some alternative options. You can also make the two reservations and then continue to check for changes in availability. If availability opens up, you could modify your stay to include the 17th and then cancel the individual-day reservation. The worst-case scenario would be that you have to move rooms after one night. I have done this before and the hotel was great about keeping all of our luggage at
Bell Services and delivering it to my room once the new one was available. We spent the day enjoying the theme parks and it was not a huge deal.
Whenever we have been in this situation, I like to turn lemons into lemonade and book an extra day at a resort that we typically wouldn't stay in for the whole week because of the expense. We have booked our first or last day at
Disney's Polynesian Resort and
Disney's Beach Club Resort and used that day to completely soak in the amenities like the fantastic pools or the fireworks views. Disney's Bell Services will also transfer your luggage between Disney Resort hotels and deliver it straight to your room for added convenience.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
