Hi Looking to book for september next year and would love to stay in animal kingdom lodge. Currently it is unavailable to book online at this resort can you tell me when i will be able to book to stay there?

    Jambo, Amy!

I welcome you to planDisney! Jambo means “Welcome” in Swahili, and Jambo House is the name of the main building at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is certainly a family favorite at Walt Disney World, and is one of the most unique options in the Disney Resort Collection with amazing architecture, a stunning collection of African art, special cultural activities, and exotic animals right outside your balcony!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has several parts to it. The original resort features standard rooms and suites and is found in Jambo House. This part of the resort has not yet reopened, and as of yet, there has been no reopening date announced. While I wish I had Mickey’s personal cell so I could pump him for insider info, sadly I only have publicly available information. While I do think it very likely that it will be reopened for a September 2022 visit, I don’t know when exactly the reopening will occur or booking will become available.

If you are wishing to get something booked sooner rather than later, you do have an alternate option. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas are found in the nearby Kidani Village, and this resort open to the public now. The villa accommodations include Deluxe Studios that feature a kitchenette, and 1, 2, or 3-Bedroom villas with full kitchens and a washer and dryer! You’ll find many of the comforts of home in these spacious rooms and you can book both standard and savanna views! The villas are part of the Disney Vacation Club family of resorts and open to booking for Disney Vacation Club Members 11 months in advance. You will usually find rooms available to the general public approximately 10 months in advance on the Disney website, so I would check for availability beginning in November. While Jambo House also has villas, currently these are only available to Disney Vacation Club Members, but you never know what could change between now and November.

I hope this helps as you plan your visit, Amy, and I hope we’ll see you return to planDisney with more questions. Sending you pixie dust for that perfect room reservation!

    See ya real soon!
