I am looking to book our first disney vacation traveling with a five year old son. We are staying at art of animation. Being that my son will be in school this year out options for weeks are dec 26_ 03 or april 03_11. Which week would be best.

Hi, Stephanie! This is an easy choice for a first-time trip in my opinion. I would pick the week in spring.  Even though it will be moderately crowded, it will be nothing like your other option. The week between Christmas and New Year's is VERY busy.  Going during that week is not for the faint of heart, even if you've been many times.  I have visited Walt Disney World during the week between Christmas and New Year's.  It is a beautiful, cool time of year to visit, but it is also the single busiest week of the year.  You would have to arrive early at the parks each day and not leave.  During this week, the parks often reach capacity, and the gates are closed.  When this happens, Walt Disney World Resort Guests have the first opportunity to get in, but what you can see and do is hindered by the crowds. For your son's first trip, I would pick spring when you will be able to see and experience more attractions. Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
