We are looking to book the Disney’s Art of Animation resort with our vacation club points. Is this possible? We are looking for 4-5 days between May 17th-May26th.

Welcome Home, James! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. It's always a treat to meet a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, and I'm happy to help add a bit of pixie dust to your vacation planning!

Without a doubt, my favorite aspect of DVC Membership is the flexibility to use our Vacation Points to stay in many different accommodations beyond our Home Resort. One benefit that I often find folks don't know about is the ability to exchange points to stay at virtually any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.  There have been instances where we've traveled to Walt Disney World for one of our kids' events and wanted to stay with the group, and this exchange option is so great for these situations!

Our family has stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort on many occasions and it's one of our favorites. The theming really immerses you in Disney stories, and the pools and food court are excellent! I'm not sure how large your party is, but I highly recommend checking out the Family Suites, which offer more space for a bigger group (up to 6 adults).

James, I experimented with booking some reservations at Art of Animation within the date range you mentioned via the Walt Disney World website, and there appears to be availability. To get an idea of how many DVC points you need for your stay, take a look at the Points Charts, which will break everything down by resort, date, and room category.

To go ahead with your booking, simply call Member Services, and the helpful wizards there can look at options and complete the exchange for you. Remember that any exchange transaction does carry a nonrefundable, one-time fee (currently $95, subject to change).

I hope this information was just what you need, and that you'll be counting down to that May vacation soon! Thanks again for stopping by planDisney--if I can help with any other questions about all things DVC or Walt Disney World, please reach out anytime!

    Stay Magical!
