We are looking to book a cruise on the Wonder in November 2013. We took a cruise on the Fantasy November 2012. We are worried we will be disappointed with the Wonder because it is older. Is the ship maintained & updated?

Welcome aboard, Jeanine! Your family's Disney Cruise Line experience is just like how my family started with Disney Cruise Line. Our very first sailing was on the brand new Disney Dream. Right after that, we booked a cruise on the Wonder.

I'll admit I was worried we would be very disappointed going on a smaller, older ship. Boy, was I wrong!
Sure, the Wonder is smaller, but that is what adds to its charm! We really enjoy the Wonder and Magic because they are much more intimate experiences. We get to know the Cast Members better, especially the Cruise Staff, and find our way around the ship much more easily.

The Wonder and Magic are both very well maintained, and go in to dry dock every now and then to be refurbished. Of course, they are not the brand-spankin' new ships that the Fantasy and Dream are, and they don't have the technology of those two (magic portholes, Midship Detective Agency), but they have activities galore! We actually enjoy some of the activities and events on the smaller ships much more!

Your two cruise experiences will both be very magical for different reasons. I'm sure you'll have an amazing cruise! Take the time to get to know your Cruise Staff well. It makes all the difference!
Have fun as you continue to plan, Jeanine!
