We are looking to book a cruise in the summer of 2013 and will be needing a suite or 2 adjoining rooms with verandas. We are Florida residents and have Disney Annual passes. 1. passholders and/or Fl res discounts? 2. best summer dates beginning/end?

    Ahoy Kristin!

Welcome back to the Moms Panel!  I'm thrilled to hear you are considering a 2013 sailing on Disney Cruise Line!  As Disney AP holders, I'm sure you are excited to experience all that Disney has to offer on the high seas!

Since I don't hold an annual pass or live in FL, I had to do a little research to find out what options are available for your family.  What I found out is that AP discounts are very rare.  If something is offered by DCL, it is usually a one time cruise just for AP Holders.  A FL Resident discount is more likely, but there are restrictions that come along with receiving a reduced rate.  Many times the FL resident deals are only for certain cruise dates and are sometimes best when they are offered close to a sail date because the ship is not selling well.  The promotional price has to be paid immediately and the name and date can't be changed.  When you book you will also be booking a VGT (verandah guarantee), OGT (oceanview guarantee), or IGT (inside guarantee) and this also can not be changed once the reservation is made.  A guarantee stateroom means Disney will choose your room for you in the category you book. Something else to consider is there is no cancellation allowed so you will want to purchase the Vacation Protection Plan so you can receive a credit to book another cruise in case of a medical issue or bereavement.

FL Resident rates do appear online when they are available.

I have sailed around Memorial Day and found this a great time to sail because many schools are still in session and the weather is quite pleasant.  We have done this several times, and it is the best way to kick off summertime!

I hope this information helps.  Please let me know if you have further questions.
