Hi there, Laura! Welcome to planDisney!
Laura, you sound like a woman after my own heart. What's the only thing better than a week at Walt Disney World Resort? Adding another weekend to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, of course.
From what I can tell there is no financial advantage to extending your stay as opposed to making a new reservation. If I were in your shoes, I would take this opportunity to do a split stay and experience two resorts! While not all resorts are currently accepting reservations for your dates, you still have a
wide selection of amazing resorts to choose from.
My family often does split stays starting at a
Value or
Moderate resort before moving on to a
Deluxe resort for a few nights at the end of our trip. This allows us to experience all of the amazing resort hotels at a price that works for us. Just last year my family spent one week at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort before moving over to a Savannah-view room at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for the weekend of my birthday.
Laura, Disney makes split stays incredibly easy. It's almost like having your own fairy godmother! Simply pack up your belongings and call Bell Services to have your things picked up. Enjoy your day in the parks, and when you arrive at your new resort hotel you can call for your things to be magically delivered. If you take advantage of
online resort check-in, you can
head directly to your room. You won't even have to stop by the front desk.
I hope that this helped, Laura. Please come back here if we can help answer any other questions about your fabulous extended Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
See you real soon!
