Ahoy, Angela!
Thank you for navigating your way back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We love to "sea" familiar names and are so glad you've found our site helpful as you plan for your sailing aboard the Disney Wonder.
You've asked about one of my favorite Disney Cruise Line topics-dining! I'm not that great of a cook, Angela so cruising spoils my family! We love the menu offerings, and the amazing service we receive each evening in the main dining venues. Leftovers are a bit tricky since the refrigerators in the staterooms are rather small, and there are not any microwaves available to Guests. I have seen Guests take desserts out of the dining rooms on a dinner plate with a lid. I think your best option if you are hungry later is to order room service (available 24 hours a day) or stop by one of the quick-service venues on Deck 9 (
Pinocchio's Pizzeria is normally open late). Late night snacks are also available at the Crown and Fin Pub (18 and over after 9:00 p.m.) and the Promenade Lounge. Your daily cruise newsletter or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will have the times listed each day. And the answer to your dessert question is yes, and I often "have" to order two because I can't decide! This is true for each course so don't hesitate to try as much as you like!
The Captain's Gala dinner is typically offered on the longer sailings and should be scheduled for Day Six on your 7-night voyage. Dinner attire is semi-formal, and you'll have the opportunity to enjoy some seafood selections such as Oven-Baked Lobster Tail. The captain is usually available for pictures in his dapper white coat and bow tie. You may also find some of the officers and crew members greeting Guests in the Grand Lobby Atrium.
Angela, we hope to hEAR from you again real soon!
Have a magical day!
Nancy
