I have looked everywhere for this info and can't find it. I hope you can help. Getting ready to order a bday cake for my son. Does the bakery make a gluten free cake? I SO want to get him the mickey face cake! Do you know the cost? Thanx, you guys ROCK!!

Thanks for writing us, Jaynee!  Glad you like the Moms Panel.

It also took a bit of research on my end, but I think I found some helpful information for you.

The quick answer is, YES, you can get gluten-free cakes.

    More detail...

To order a cake at WDW, you need to call the "cake hotline" (407-827-2253) with at least 48-hours notice (note: they are closed Sat. and Sun.). Cakes are made by various different chefs across WDW, so on the cake hotline you will be directed through a menu to the appropriate park or resort where you would like the cake to order the cake and ask about their specific offerings (they vary by chef).

I called the Crystal Palace restaurant via the cake hotline at the Magic Kingdom and they informed me that they have a 6" round gluten-free cake that can be personalized with a special message (but no special decorations) for around $29.  That cake feeds 4-6 people. They did not offer a gluten-free Mickey face cake.  I also contacted the chef at Contemporary resort and learned that you CAN get a gluten-free Mickey head cake there (yeah!!) for $56.

So, once you know of some possible locations for your son's cake, please be sure to call the cake hotline to find out more details about your specific options.

By the way, some other resources for gluten-free ideas at WDW:
    - Search for "gluten" or "celiac" on the Moms Panel site.  There are over 50 past Q&As on this topic.
    - Search for "gluten free guests experiences" in Google, and you'll find some great articles about gluten-free dining at WDW on the allears.net site
