Does it take longer in line to use the scooters?

Hiya, Joyce, and welcome to planDisney! You'll arrive for your Walt Disney World Resort adventure soon, so thanks for stopping by with this fantastic question. I'd love to help you discover more about easily getting around the theme parks, so let's get "rolling!"

Electronic Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are a fabulous way to maneuver the parks; you can rent them at any theme park entrance! My tip is to arrive early in the day to ensure availability. You can also bring your own or rent one from Scooterbug, the Disney Featured Provider. Once you've secured your ride, it's off to the races!

I used a wheelchair on a recent visit because I'd sprained my ankle, so I was able to experience how using a mobility device works. The first thing to note is that each attraction will have its own procedures for waiting in the queue and boarding the ride. Cast Members will be happy to explain how the process will work, and I found that my wait times were similar to the listed standby times.

Attractions with stairs might offer an alternate entrance, and a few might give you a return time, but most queues will accommodate ECVs. The only ones that could take a little longer would be rides such as TRON Lightcycle / Run, which has limited accessible seats. Again, I recommend speaking with an attendant at each queue entrance for details.

You might review the Services for Guests with Mobility Needs for useful tips and information. You'll find out about transfer procedures and more. Feel free to email the team with any questions or concerns at disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Joyce, I hope your visit is smooth and easy! Please stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
