Hi Michael!
We often stay at
Disney’s Old Key West Resort, it’s definitely a family favorite. We love how relaxing and laid-back the resort feels, and how spacious the rooms are. Add in an afternoon at the pool, dinner at
Olivia’s Cafe, and a fancy beverage from the
Gurgling Suitcase, and you have the practically perfect day at Disney’s Old Key West!
There are five
bus stops at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The length of your journey will depend on which stop you board the bus, but from the time the bus leaves the resort itself, it is an approximately 15-minute journey to the
Magic Kingdom. When traveling to the theme parks, the bus begins at the Peninsular Road bus stop, then makes additional stops at Old Turtle Pond Road, South Point, Miller’s Road, and then finally at the Hospitality House before heading to the parks. If you were to board at Peninsular Road you would have the longest ride, which would be approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
My rule of thumb when traveling is to always allow a good hour of travel from my resort to a theme park. This allows time for me to chastise my children who are running late, walk to the bus stop, wait 20 or so minutes for a bus, and then travel to the theme park. If you have a dining reservation, you should leave additional time to walk from the bus stop to the park gates, get through bag check and into the park, as well as time to walk to your final destination.
I hope this helps with your planning Michael! Keep sending those questions!
