Hi there, Rosalee! Thank you so much for coming back to planDisney with your vacation questions, we appreciate that you trust us to answer them.
A few years ago, I began renting a car on all my Walt Disney World vacations. Once I realized how much time I had been wasting waiting on buses to arrive and transport me around the property, I never went back! So, I have
parked in a LOT of different places around WDW.
When you have a confirmed dining reservation, you are allowed to park at that resort for a maximum of three hours. This gives you enough time to check-in, eat, take some photos, and possibly take a mosey through the resort’s gift shop. If you took slightly longer, I’m sure it would be fine.
The abuse of the time limit comes when someone parks in the lot for a dining reservation and then leaves the resort on alternative Disney transportation to go to a theme park for the day. Since the resort parking lots are not large enough to hold all the vehicles of guests that might like to head to a theme park from that resort, there is a limit. I, too, have heard of cars being towed that abused this system.
One of my favorite resort dining locations is
Olivia’s Café, at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. This is a hidden gem! No matter the meal, I promise you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend the Banana Bread French Toast for breakfast, or the Caesar Salad with shrimp for lunch. I have never been disappointed with Captain Wahoo’s Catch of the Day, either.
I hope you have a wonderful next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
