How long before the parade/fireworks starts should we already get us spots for it?

    Hi Nadav.

Aw the perfect parade firework spot is a valuable commodity at Disney World. During holiday visits, we have camped out in those prime spaces for hours. How long you will need to reserve this spot depends on the time of the year you go. Certainly on actual holidays you may need to wait for an hour or two. During the peak travel months, like spring break and the summer, the wait will also be longer.

On average we usually pick our spot about thirty to forty minutes before the parade or fireworks show starts. We like to take turns sitting and waiting ( and resting) while the others shop, grab a snack or one last spin on an attraction. During the slower crowds, you can often find a great spot even fifteen minutes before the show starts. Main Street fills up the quickest especially for the Wishes firework show, therefore if sitting on Main Street is important to you, plan that time out earlier. Likewise, there are limited shady spots to enjoy the Animal Kingdom parade so those go early too.

The best trick we use is to decide earlier in the day where we want to sit. We then keep an eye on how crowded the parks are, about an hour before the parade begins, we check out the number of people "camping out". If it looks like the crowds are gathering, we sit down and wait. On a side note, a great way to pass the wait is a game of Disney Uno or Disney memory. I pack the cards and memory tiles in a ziploc bag and bring them with me in my backpack.

    Enjoy!
