Hi Candy,
We are delighted to see you stopping by planDisney with a question!
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of my family's favorite
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. With access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation, this resort hotel is only a few minutes away from Magic Kingdom. When I checked the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, it estimated time to Magic Kingdom on the monorail to be 22 minutes and time by boat to be 35 minutes. When we have traveled by monorail in the past, it has never felt longer than 10 minutes.
Keep in mind that the monorail can get quite busy during peak times, especially after the fireworks show and park closing. We love to do breakfast at
Kona Cafe and then hop on the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. As you continue to plan, be sure to make advanced dining reservations.
Character meals and other dining locations can be quite popular and have little walk-up availability on the days of your visit.
At
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, I always ask for a room on the ground floor. One year, we had a gorgeous lake view and we all enjoyed a little time outside on the patio. I also have to suggest that you make a dinner reservation at 'Ohana. We love dining here during the
Happily Ever After fireworks show. The setting is beautiful!
Candy, I hope this helps! Keep up the
practically perfect planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
