Hiya, Judy! Welcome to planDisney.
Gifting your grandchildren with
Annual Passes to
Walt Disney World Resort will give them memories for a lifetime.
The easiest way to manage their passes is to have their
MyDisney accounts linked as Family & Friends. Once the tickets are assigned and activated, they become the children's passes. Any adult visiting the theme parks with them will want to be connected to be able to add
theme park reservations, make
Lightning Lane selections if purchasing
Genie+ and share
PhotoPass photos.
If they do not have a MyDisney account, you can create one by logging into the
My Disney Experience app, opening the menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen), and scrolling to "Profile."
Select the "Family & Friends List" tab and follow the prompts under "+ Add a Guest" to add them by name and age. One note:
MyDisney accounts for children under 13 are not transferrable, meaning the adult who creates them will be their owner.
If they already have a MyDisney account, you can connect with them by scanning their linking code or through family and friends of connected Guests, if you are connected to the adult who manages their account and they are sharing their connected family and friends. If you cannot find the children on the list of Guest profiles, you can ask the adult who manages the account to go to their Family & Friends list and make sure they have it set to share their connections. At the bottom of the Family & Friends List tab, there is a button for "Yes, share my Family & Friends list." If this button is green, you should be able to find the children's profiles and connect with them.
I hope this answers your question. If I did not understand or if you have any follow-up questions, you can
ask me directly, and I will do my best to assist.
