How long would you estimate the average character breakfast takes? I have a toddler and want to have enough time to see the parks and don't want to spend a terribly long time at the character meals? Our reservations are around 8 and the parks open at 9.

Hi, Catherine!  I would allow about an hour for a character breakfast.  By the time you see all of the characters as they go around the room in their rotation, and by the time your family has all had an opportunity to eat between photo ops, I know it usually takes about an hour out of our day.

I always rationalize that we have to eat anyway, and if I were to stand in lines and wait for each of the four or so characters that I am going to see at a character meal, I'm going to spend just as much time, only not get fed and have to stand in the sun.  I think character meals are one of the best ways to meet some of your favorite Walt Disney World friends without having to stand in line.  I love it when I can tie a tall, cold drink into photos of happy children!

I hope you have a great time at Walt Disney World!
