Is there a long distance between Mermaid rooms and Cars Suite? We are taking our 2 grandsons and their parents (4 adults total) not sure an adult could sleep on sofa bed for 9 days. Our grandson who is 4 is huge Cars fans would just love it I'm sure.

    Hi Sheri,

The Little Mermaid and Cars rooms are located on opposite sides of the Art of Animation resort. The farthest Little Mermaid room is approximately .25 miles from the central building and food court. The farthest Cars room is about .10 miles from the food court. Add it together and you're looking at about a third of a mile from the most distant Mermaid room to the most distant Cars room. A healthy adult could walk this in under five minutes. And chances are you wouldn't both be in the very most distant corners of the hotel.

You should know that there are three sleep surfaces in each of the family suites at Art of Animation: a standard queen-sized bed, a sofa bed, and a Murphy-style pull-down bed. The sofa bed does have a support bar in the middle which might bother some adults during a long stay. But the Murphy bed is one flat mattress. I've slept on it myself a few times and had no problem at all.
