How long does the disney transportation run? We have reservations for La Nouba in Downtown Disney starting at 9 pm. How will we get back to POFQ? Also, what if our dinner reservations take us over 2 hours after park closing? How will we commute?

Most sources will tell you that the Disney transportation system runs until one hour after park closing. However, the real answer is that it runs until all the guests are where they need to be.

As for your La Nouba situation ... there will be thousands of other guests in the same boat as you. When the show lets out at about 10:30, they will all need to get back to their hotels. There will be plenty of buses at Downtown Disney until at least midnight, serving both the La Nouba guests as well as the many people dining in the DD restaurants that are open until at least 11:00.

I think that it is quite unlikely that you will be still be dining in a theme park more than two hours after park closing. You are correct that guests are seated at several of the the WDW restaurants at the theme parks at park closing time or even a bit after. However, most theme park meals should take an hour and a half at a maximum. Buses will still be ferrying stragglers back to their rooms at this point. Should you be super super late in the park, you could take a taxi back to your hotel or the cast members might even call a special bus for you. You will not be left stranded at either Downtown Disney or the theme parks.
