Hi Brian!
Welcome to planDisney! I am happy I can help answer your question about
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort! This is my children's favorite resort and one that we've shared many memories at. Located on Seven Seas Lagoon, you have views of Cinderella Castle in the background while you lounge at the Lava pool. Perhaps renting a cabana at the Oasis pool is your definition of a relaxing day. Don't forget to grab a dole whip at the Pineapple Lanai after a busy day at the parks. At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, guests can enjoy a bit of everything!
The Disney Parks Blog announced the
refurbishment of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in September. The resort is undergoing a transformation process, from a new entry to completely renovated rooms! At this time, there is no specified reopening date, solely Summer of 2021. That could be early summer or late summer, but we do not know as of yet. Monorail service will also be temporarily suspended while construction to the main entry is completed. While the hotel section of the resort is closed, the Disney Vacation Club section is operational. If you are a DVC owner and are planning on a stay at the Polynesian, this may be your best option.
If staying close to Magic Kingdom is your heart's desire, you may opt for a stay at either
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa or
Disney's Contemporary Resort. Both of these are located on Seven Seas Lagoon and offer access to Magic Kingdom via the monorail or boat service. Another fantastic option is
Disney's Wilderness Lodge! Guest can enjoy rustic theme in the spirit of lodges at National Parks . It's an absolutely breathtaking resort and offers water shuttle access to Magic Kingdom.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
